About GMDC Accreditation
GMDC is recognised by the Government of Grenada, the U.S. Department of Education through the NCFMEA, and the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) as the authority for accreditation of medical education programs leading to a medical degree.

Steps to Become Accredited
- Apply for and obtain authorization from the Government of Grenada
- Apply for candidacy from GMDC
- Submit documentation demonstrating continuous enrollment for 10+ years
- Submit an institutional self-study
- Submit a complete data collection instrument (DCI)
- Cooperate with GMDC site visitors for evaluation visits
Accreditation Period
Initial accreditation is granted for five (5) years. Subsequent full reviews grant eight (8) years. On average, schools take about three years to earn GMDC accreditation.
