Dear reader, the GMDC was established in 2010 by the Health Practitioner Act. Initially, the Council mandate was to register and license medical and dental practitioners. In 2019, GMDC was given authority to accredit medical education programmes in Grenada.
GMDC accreditation affirms that graduates possess the skills and knowledge needed to become competent medical practitioners. In 2019, the NCFMEA determined GMDC standards were comparable to those in the United States. In 2022, WFME recognised GMDC until 2032.
